“This is addressed to the residence.”

“The resident has been receiving illegal packages.”

Inside, the homeowner’s eyebrows lifted.

So she knew rumors.

Or more.

The Sheriff said:

“Step back.”

Instead, the HOA President lunged.

She grabbed the box.

The Sheriff tightened his grip.

“Ma’am, let go.”

She pulled harder.

“Give it to me.”

“Let go of the package.”

“This is association evidence.”

“No.”

The homeowner moved closer to the window.

Phone recording.

The HOA President yanked suddenly.

The Sheriff had a choice.

Fight over a cardboard box or release it.

He released.

She stumbled backward.

Caught herself.

Then smiled triumphantly.

Inside the house, the homeowner whispered:

“Unbelievable.”

The Sheriff said:

“Do not open that.”

The HOA President glared.

“You don’t tell me what I can inspect on association property.”

“This is not association property.”

She ripped the tape.

The Sheriff took one step forward.

“Ma’am.”

She tore back one flap.

Then the other.

Inside were sealed evidence packages containing illegal narcotics.

Her face changed instantly.

No triumph.

No anger.

Pure panic.

She tried to close the box.

Too late.

The Sheriff’s voice hardened.

“Put it down.”

She stared.

“What is this?”

“Put the box down.”

“This isn't mine.”

The Sheriff stepped closer.

“Then why did you take it out of my hands?”

She looked toward the house.

Saw the homeowner filming through the window.

Her face twisted.

“You!”

He did not respond.

Kept recording.

The HOA President pointed.

“He set me up.”

The Sheriff said:

“Turn around.”

“No.”

“Ma’am.”

“This was his package.”

“Turn around.”

“I was protecting the community.”

“You forcibly took custody of a package after being told not to.”

“I didn't know what was inside.”

“That will be documented.”

She looked at the box.

Then at the Sheriff.

Then toward the street.

Two vehicles moved.

Officers emerged.

The HOA President backed away.

“This is insane.”

The Sheriff reached for her wrist.

She jerked away.

“Don't touch me.”

“Turn around.”
