“Are you threatening me?”

“No.”

“I’m describing the difference between HOA rules and ownership.”

She stepped closer.

“You need to understand that I have managed this community for years.”

“And I need you to understand that you cannot take packages from my porch.”

“You don't tell me what I can do in this neighborhood.”

The homeowner remained calm.

“Yes.”

“I do.”

“When the subject is my property.”

That ended the conversation.

Not because she agreed.

Because she had run out of language that sounded official.

She walked away.

The homeowner closed the door.

Then saved his doorbell recording.

Incident four.

The fifth package disappeared on Saturday.

The homeowner was ready.

A second camera now covered the front walkway from inside the upstairs window.

The doorbell camera captured the HOA President again.

This time she did something different.

She photographed the shipping label first.

Then carried the box to her white SUV.

The homeowner watched live from his office.

He did not confront her.

He called the nonemergency police line.

An officer arrived forty minutes later.

The HOA President was gone.

The officer reviewed the footage.

“That’s clear.”

“Yes.”

“You know her?”

“HOA President.”

The officer looked at him.

“Seriously?”

“Yes.”

“What’s in the package?”

“Coffee filters.”

The officer stared.

“Coffee filters.”

“Bulk order.”

The officer tried not to smile.

The homeowner did.

“I understand.”

The officer took the report.

“Want charges?”

“I want documentation first.”

The officer looked surprised.

“You're sure?”

“Yes.”

“If this keeps happening, I want the pattern clean.”

The officer nodded.

“Fair.”

The homeowner asked:

“Can you note that the previous package was also caught on video?”

“Yes.”

“Good.”

The report went into the file.

Three days later, something stranger happened.

A box appeared on his porch that he had not ordered.

No retailer notification.

No familiar sender.

Plain brown cardboard.

His address.

His name spelled correctly.

He saw it through the camera while at work.

The package remained untouched for two hours.

Then the HOA President arrived.

This time she walked faster.

No hesitation.

She picked it up.

Opened her trunk.

Placed it inside.

Drove away.

The homeowner watched the footage several times.

Something felt different.

She had not photographed the label.

Had not checked the street.

Had not behaved like someone opportunistically taking a package.

She looked as though she had been waiting for it.
