By nine that night, neighborhood group chats were exploding.

Some residents wanted Brenda immediately removed.

Others defended her.

A few accused Adrian of setting her up.

One message claimed the videos had been edited.

Another suggested the hand gesture was coincidence.

A third said Calvin had disliked Brenda for years.

Adrian read ten messages.

Then closed the app.

At 10:23, his doorbell rang.

Calvin stood outside.

Adrian opened the door.

"You okay?"

"Yeah."

Calvin held a flash drive.

"I copied the lawn footage."

"You should give that to police."

"I did."

"Then why are you giving it to me?"

Calvin looked down the street.

"Because I think you need to see the whole thing."

Adrian let him inside.

They sat at the kitchen table.

Calvin opened his laptop.

The clip they had shown police was thirty seconds long.

The full recording was twelve minutes.

Calvin played from the beginning.

The dark sedan appeared at 2:08 a.m.

It did not immediately stop at his house.

It drove slowly through the street.

Passed once.

Returned.

Stopped near the corner.

A woman emerged from the passenger side.

Her face never entered the camera clearly.

She walked onto the sidewalk.

Waited.

Another vehicle appeared.

A white pickup.

It stopped farther down.

The first woman raised her hand.

Two fingers.

Point.

A man exited the pickup carrying the container.

He dumped liquid along Calvin's grass.

Returned to the truck.

Then the woman walked back toward the dark sedan.

Before entering, she turned.

For one frame, a streetlight caught her profile.

Blonde bob.

Calvin paused the video.

Adrian leaned closer.

The face was not clear enough to prove identity.

But the hair.

The height.

The body shape.

The cream-colored handbag.

Adrian had seen that handbag hundreds of times.

Brenda carried it to nearly every HOA meeting.

"Could be her," Calvin said.

Adrian nodded.

"Could be."

Calvin looked at him.

"That's all you're going to say?"

"That's all the video proves."

Calvin smiled faintly.

"You're annoyingly careful."

"I've had practice."

They watched again.

Calvin pointed toward the white pickup.

"Recognize that?"

Adrian shook his head.

Calvin zoomed in.

The logo on the door was blurry.

But two words were visible.

Summit Property.

Adrian frowned.

"Who are they?"

Calvin looked at him.

"The company that repaired my lawn."

Adrian stared at him.

"What?"

"HOA recommended them."

"After the damage?"

"Brenda sent me their number with the violation notice."

Adrian sat back.

The room became quiet.

"How much?"

"Three thousand six hundred."

"For grass?"

"They replaced sod, adjusted irrigation, treated soil."

"Did insurance cover it?"

"No."

"The HOA?"

"No."

"You paid?"

"Eventually."
