“Did you inspect it?”
“I can’t reach half of it!”
The Sheriff nodded.
“That’s fair.”
He turned to the Farm Owner.
The Farm Owner gave him the timeline.
Repeated parking.
Written notices.
Attorney letter.
Trespassing.
Last night.
Livestock emergency.
Calls.
Veterinarian blocked.
Road needing immediate clearance.
The Sheriff listened.
Then asked for documentation.
The Farm Owner brought the folder.
Photographs.
Emails.
Certified letters.
Video screenshots.
The Property Manager’s written acknowledgement that the road belonged to the farm.
The Sheriff read.
The HOA President became increasingly uncomfortable.
She interrupted.
“Our Attorney disputes that.”
The Sheriff looked at her.
“Do you have a court order giving you access?”
“No.”
“Recorded easement?”
“We believe—”
“That’s not what I asked.”
The Farm Owner almost smiled.
The Sheriff continued:
“Do you have one?”
The HOA President folded her arms.
“No.”
“Did he tell you to stop parking here?”
Silence.
The Sheriff waited.
“Yes.”
“How many times?”
“I don’t keep count.”
The Farm Owner said:
“I do.”
The Sheriff looked at the folder.
“Apparently.”
He turned toward the SUV.
“How did it get there?”
The Farm Owner explained generally.
No destructive force.
No intent to damage.
Vehicle moved only enough to clear access.
Supported and secured.
The Sheriff walked around it.
Took photographs.
Looked beneath it.
Checked visible body panels.
Then spoke with the Veterinarian by phone.
The Veterinarian confirmed the emergency.
Confirmed the obstruction.
Confirmed the timeline.
The Sheriff hung up.
The HOA President asked:
“Well?”
The Sheriff looked at her.
“You shouldn't have parked here.”
Her mouth fell open.
“That’s your conclusion?”
“First conclusion.”
He looked toward the Farm Owner.
“And you shouldn’t make a habit of relocating expensive vehicles with farm equipment.”
The Farm Owner nodded.
“Wasn’t planning to.”
The HOA President pointed.
“He endangered my property!”
The Sheriff replied:
“You endangered your property by leaving it where you had repeatedly been told not to.”
“I am the HOA President.”
The Sheriff stared.
“What does that have to do with this farm?”
The HOA President said nothing.
The Sheriff continued:
“Your HOA ends at its recorded boundary.”
The Farm Owner looked away because that was exactly what he had been saying for months.
The Sheriff asked:
“Who removed or opened the gate last night?”
The HOA President shifted.
“It was open.”
The Farm Owner looked at her.
“No.”
The Sheriff noticed.
“Camera?”
The Farm Owner nodded.
They reviewed footage.
The white SUV arriving.
The HOA President stepping out.
